It rained all night, the thunder rumbled
As I arose, the storm was far in the distance and only soft, life giving rain was falling
April showers to bring May flowers from seed that I had carefully sown
The purple finch trilled at the woods' edge and thanked me for breakfast that I had supplied
I listened to the drip, drip of water on the walk and took a breath of clean, crisp morning air and
thanked my God for his artistry created at that moment, for me
